2016 Mataro review

Rock of Wisdom Mataro 2016

"This is a wine that will make you want to hug a cow." I don't take a lot of encouragement. They had me at cow.

This places deliciousness front and centre. A pure, clean, jubey core of sweet, berried flavour is then wrapped in leather, earth , mocha, anise and hazelnuts, the overall effect just, simply, limpsmackingly good. What it lacks in colour it makes up for in personality and flavour.

2016 Grenache review

Rock of Wisdom Grenache 2016

Barossa Valley Grenache, taken in a good direction.

All about the fruit. And the spice. And the perfume. And the sandy tannin. It's raspberried and earthen, shot with assorted sweet spices and studded with both cloves and woody anise. It's a warm wine but succulent one. A wine where pure, expressive fruit holds the floor.
